Did you know that Fresh 48 sessions are sessions that take place in the hospital while mom and baby are recovering from birth? Usually, Fresh 48 sessions take place a day or two following birth, and are very simple and (mostly) unposed in nature.

As a top Raleigh Fresh 48 Hospital Photographer I would love to share with you a few tips that will make your session that much more enjoyable…

  1. WEAR SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE COMFORTABLE IN!

This is not a perfect hair and make-up kind of photo shoot. I mean, you just had a BABY! As always, neutral colors, no patterns work best for Dad. Even a just a plain white t shirt photographs beautifully! For you, mom, one of my favorite places for buying clothing for the hospital is Pink Blush. You will find beautiful robes to throw on over your PJs

  2. RESERVING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER IN ADVANCE IS KEY!

Due to the on call nature of these sessions, I can only do a limited number of Fresh 48 sessions a month! Booking early is key to guaranteeing you a spot! After booking, most clients add me to the list of people to call or text when they are headed to the hospital or birthing center. The experience is so much better when a trusted face knocks on your hospital door and you are sure of the beautiful images they will create.

  3. TIDY UP YOUR HOSPITAL ROOM

Yes, you just had a baby but I promise that with your room free of the clutter of empty take-out containers your photographer will have an easier time creating the beautiful images you have been adoring online for months leading up to this day.
